Camping cold weather can be a lot of fun if done correctly. First thing you have to do is assess what you are up against. When planning a camping trip in cold weather, check the weather forecast ahead of time to determine what you might be facing in the days ahead. If it is going to snow, make sure that you are going to have adequate transportation to get to and from the campsite. Also make sure you have the necessary equipment to survive in the snow like snowshoes.
How to stay warm
Clothes
Staying warm in cold weather is just plain common sense. Make sure you pack layers of clothing so that you can just your body heat according to the changes in your environment. Instead of just packing one large down coat, pack multiple layers of clothing items like a T-shirt and a sweatshirt as well as a heavier coat. Add additional shirts if you’re cold and remove layers as you get hot. The key here is to avoid sweating which will cause your clothing to get wet and can lead to hypothermia.
